The Book !

Little Book is an Horrific Experience, created as an ENJMIN first year project.

As we were told to have fun and go creative on thoses projects, we decided to develop an unique experience based on unusual controlers!

This game places you back in your childhood, when you were trying to read, hidden under your duvet with your small flashlight.

But this time, maybe this book is not the one you should have started to read !

By sending you back when you were young, this game uses differents uniques controllers! The Book is here, in front of you, and turning pages in the real life, will turn them in the game. Even more unexpected for players, the duvet itself is also a controller, and you will have to lift it for real, in order to have it lifted in the game.

As your reading progress through the pages, you will be plunged into a frightening world, where weird things will be more and more frequent as you reach the lasts pages !

The Book, Work in Progress!

Main controler for our game, The Book is a real book made with Arduino technology!

It combines differents captors, as a light captor and potentiometers. First one is here to detect whenever the blanket is or is not covering the Book.

Second ones consist in a serie of 11 potentiometers, each one detecting in real time the position of each page in space.

All of these allowing the Book to be our main controller, and helping imerge the player into that horrific experience!

The Bed !

The Bed, where the player lie !

Our second and very unusual controler is a real bed, with some wooden armature to ensure a perfect comfort for our player.

The blanket is fixed and can drop partially over the Book, and it is very easy to grab it, and rise it, in order to activate the light captor on the Book.

This bed is a big part of the immersive effect provided during the play !
