Every ground needs texture!

In order to have a decent looking terrain, we needed a large set of texture that have been painted on the floor. They had to mix with each other, tile, and being various enough to create a credible environment despite the cartoon look. They were entirely made using hand painted method with PhotoshopCS5

These are a some of the textures used for terrain painting. They are all tileable, and some are used as transition between two other maps.

They were painted in 1024x1024 then scaled down to 512x512 or 256x256 to enhance the game's performance.

And characters too!

As terrain needed textures, the same goes for characters and many props! Our 3D models were only using Diffuse Maps, and some of them were using alpha transparency (plants, vegetables, tree...).

There is also a few model using differents shaders to achieve various visual effects (like glowing handle for the broom).

Pi-R, the little bot that follow Wilson is made with specific shaders!

The Toon Shader used for every other characters, some alpha transparency for the aerial, and an Additive Shader for the reactor light.

Furthermore, even being a very simple model, Pi-R is fully rigged, so he can show many emotions only with his eye!

The "Harricomancien" or we could translate it like "Necromancer Bean", is an enemy summoning fierce vegetables!

Having him made with 3 faces was very interesting when it came to animate it, as it could be showing 3 different expressions at the same time!

A bit of items!

Our world would have been empty without many items to find! Weapon, bonuses, crates... many things that needed work!

Because bonus content is always fun, we decided to introduce some extra costumes for our hero!

I bet you will find from where they have been choosed!

One of the biggest challenge was to create a suitable water style for our environment. With some work, and inspiration from some great games, Plop'O'Gum have it's own water style! Water planes, and waterfall, made with few things!!

And a little touch of water!!

Made with few planes, and a tiled texture looping... And 2 shaders: an Additive and an Alpha Blended one.

With all these elements, only was missing some nice visual effects like explosions, lights, and other particles. All made with Unity3D's particle system, they are simple and easy to handle!

FireWorks to make the whole thing a party!
